Run the Red Rock

We did it... 2 vehicles, 1 couch, 10 friends, 29 hours, 195 miles, and plenty of endurence. That's what it took to compete in, and complete the 2011 Red Rock Relay.Short 2 runners, we somehow managed to get from Brian Head ski resort (11,000 feet) to Zion National Park (4,000 feet) in under 30 hours. The race took us through some of the most breathtaking scenery Utah has to offer. It also took us through all the elements Mother Nature could toss our way.

Not to mention all the sillieness, onryness, and general mayhem caused by lack of sleep.

For 2 days our party vehicle, "the SWASS mobile", traveled through beautiful scenery, and epic runs, becoming our red rock reality. Although the course was disorganized and understaffed, it was a weekend that will be hard to beat. Even this stranger showed up at the finish line to hand out medals.

Hello Crandall family. Just wanted to let you know we are well. Meaning Mom,Dad and I(Ryan) Still cannot seem to finish one project unless it's for some one else. The van is Still here in the driveway so no need to fret. However a monumentous thing is about to happen as we have to move it in order to cut down the Giant Sap producing thing (big pine tree) that has long been a part of the driveway we've never really been able to use. :) I will post pic's of that event that will hopefully take place Labor Day? One note I fond a toy figurine of Woody from Toy story on a branch about 15 feet up. Since the first movie came out in 2000, or '01, I like to think in the 11 years since then that Woody was erected upwards on the branch when it was only...say.. 8 feet. So Woody grew 7 feet!! ha ha So here is dad without a mustache. been a long time since he supprised us by cutting it without telling anyone. Does anyone remember how weird he seemed?
